Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before fuel level sensor check completely fill the car with gasoline.
2. Remove a back seat and a cover of the hatch of the pump assembled with the sensor (shooters specified fastening screws).
3. Disconnect the socket of the fuel level sensor located in the top part of a tank.
4. Measure resistance of the sensor between conclusions pink (+) and black (–) colors. Switch an ohmmeter to a scale of 200 Ohm.
5. At completely filled tank resistance of the sensor should be about 4 Ohm.
6. Connect the socket. Make a trip to almost full devastation of a tank (it is possible to merge also gasoline in the canister or a suitable vessel by means of the manual pump, – a mouth not to suck away gasoline).
7. Check resistance of the sensor. Now resistance should be about 110 Ohm.
8. If resistance of the sensor differ, the sensor replace.

Prevention

The sensor can be checked also having removed it from a tank. Measure resistance at completely lowered float (a tank empty) and in the extreme top provision of a float (a full tank). Resistance should change from 110 Ohm to 2–4 Ohm.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove from a fuel tank the pump assembled with the fuel level sensor (see subsection 5.4).
2. Carefully incline the sensor not to damage the float lever at extraction from a tank (the float is in the lower part of assembly the pump sensor).
3. Disconnect sockets from the sensor.
4. Unscrew screws of fastening of the sensor to an arm (are specified by shooters) and remove the sensor.
5. The sensor is established upside-down.
