1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and establish it on support. Remove a wheel and twirl two nuts for disk fastening. |
2. Remove a brake support, being guided by the instructions provided in (see subsection 9.4) (a disk of forward brakes) or (see subsection 9.6) (a disk of back brakes). It is not necessary to disconnect a brake hose. |
3. After bolts of fastening of a support will be turned off, suspend a support on a piece of a wire so that it did not disturb further work, |
4. Turn off two bolts of fastening of the holder of blocks to a rotary fist or an arm of a nave and remove the holder of blocks. |
5. Examine a surface of a brake disk on existence of scratches or other damages. Slight scratches and small flutes are normal and usually do not influence negatively work of brakes, but deep (as in drawing) scratch – over 1,0 mm – demand removal of a disk and processing of its surface in a repair truck. |
6. Check both parties of a disk. If when braking you tested twitching of a pedal of a brake, check disk palpation. |
7. For check of palpation of a disk establish a tsiferblatny measuring instrument approximately in in 12,5 mm from external edge of a disk (drawing at the left). Establish the indicator on a zero and rotate a disk. Indications of the sensor should not exceed an admissible limit. If they exceed, the disk is necessary for restoring in a repair truck.
8. The surface of a disk is necessary for processing irrespective of indications of a tsiferblatny measuring instrument as it will create ideally smooth surface that guarantees good work of brakes. As a last resort, if you decide not to restore a disk surface then remove the luster formed on a surface of a disk, by means of an emery paper, deleting luster with roundabouts. |
9. It is the extremely important, that after restoration of a surface of a disk its thickness did not decrease less admissible limit. Minimum admissible thickness of a disk (on reaching which it is necessary to replace a disk) is designated on inside a disk. |
10. The thickness of a disk can be checked by means of a micrometer. |
