On all cars with a mechanical transmission dry, disk coupling with the central spring of diafragmenny type is established. The conducted disk of coupling has the plug with shlitsa on an internal surface that allows it to slide lengthways шлицов an entrance shaft of a transmission. Conducted and press disks of coupling are kept together by pressure of plates of the diafragmenny spring established in a press disk of coupling.

On cars the hydraulic drive of switching off of coupling is used. It consists of a pedal of coupling, the main cylinder and a tank with hydraulic liquid, hydraulic tubes, the working cylinder which actuates a fork of switching off of coupling and vyzhimny the bearing.

By pressing a coupling pedal for coupling switching off, hydraulic pressure is transferred for the external end of a fork of switching off of coupling. At turn the fork puts pressure on vyzhimny the bearing. That, in turn, puts pressure upon plates of a diafragmenny spring that releases coupling.

At the description of elements of coupling used terminology can cause problems as in certain cases the old names used by the producer, changed. For example, the conducted disk often is called as a conducted disk of coupling or simply as a disk of coupling, press the disk sometimes is called as a coupling casing, the bearing of switching off of coupling sometimes is called as the vyzhimny bearing, and the cylinder of switching off of coupling sometimes is called as the working cylinder.

Besides replacement of elements of coupling which have obvious damages, it is necessary to carry out diagnostics of the reasons of emergence of malfunction.

Diagnostics

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. First of all, it is necessary to check level of hydraulic liquid in a tank of the main cylinder (see subsection 8.2.5). If level of liquid is lowered, add liquid and check hydraulic system on tightness. If the tank of the main cylinder was empty, it is necessary to pump over hydraulic system (see subsection 8.2.5) and to check work of a drive of switching off of coupling.
2. For check of time necessary in order that the released disk of coupling ceased to rotate, start the engine and leave it to work in an idling mode by the included neutral transfer (the pedal of coupling is released - coupling is included). Switch off coupling (squeeze out a coupling pedal), wait some seconds and include backing transfer. You should not hear a friction sound. If there is a friction sound, it testifies to possible problems in a press disk of coupling or a conducted disk.
3. To check, whether coupling is up to the end released, start the engine (having put it on the hand brake) and squeeze out a coupling pedal so that it did not get to a floor about 12,7 mm. Switch the first transfer and backing transfer several times. If transfers are switched hard, coupling means is faulty. Check size of a course of a rod of the working cylinder. At completely squeezed out pedal of coupling the rod of the working cylinder should act considerably from the cylinder. If does not act, check level of hydraulic liquid in a tank of the main cylinder.
4. Examine the plug of a pedal of coupling from above pedals and check, that it did not jam and was not too worn-out and free.
5. Under the car check, that the fork of switching off of coupling was reliably established on an axis with a spherical tip.
