Prevention

Before the beginning of work learn, how many there is already restored or new cylinder, and whether there are they on sale. Depending on it, you will make the decision, whether it is necessary to you most to be engaged in cylinder restoration. If you decide to restore the cylinder, check before purchase of spare parts its internal surface as it is described in item 7.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator.

Prevention

If the stereoplayer of your car has coding system, check, whether you know a code of activation of a player before an accumulator detachment.


2. Under the dashboard disconnect a pusher from a coupling pedal. It keeps on a place by means of a pin from the cheky. For pin removal, get to the check (it is specified by an arrow).
3. Disconnect a hydraulic tube from the main cylinder of a drive of switching off of coupling. If is available, use a cap wrench when untwisting connection not to break a side. Prepare some rags as at a detachment of a tube can spill a little hydraulic liquid.

Prevention

Watch that hydraulic liquid did not get on car paint as it will damage it.


4. Under the dashboard turn off the nuts, fixing the main cylinder of a drive of switching off of coupling to a partition. Remove the main cylinder and watch to spilling hydraulic liquid.

Partition

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a cap of a tank and pour out hydraulic liquid of the main cylinder. Get a spring pin (see fig. Elements of the main cylinder of a drive of switching off of coupling) by means of a hammer and a punch, and then, accurately remove a tank.
2. On the release Corolla models till 1995, use a small screw-driver to lift a uvula of a restrictive ring so that it became level with a ring surface. Then, remove a restrictive ring, laying and a pusher from the cylinder.

3. On the release Corolla models since 1996 remove a dustproof cover, press on the piston and remove a cutting lock ring by means of flat-nose pliers. Remove a pusher and a washer.
4. Overturn the cylinder and knock with him on a tree to take the piston.

Prevention

If the new cylinder is on sale already assembled, pass the paragraphs describing operations which do not need to be carried out.


5. Remove a spring from the piston.
6. Accurately remove consolidation from the piston.
7. Examine an internal surface of the cylinder on existence of deep scratches or notches. The surface to the touch should be smooth. If it not ideally smooth, it is necessary to replace the main cylinder new or restored.
8. If you use the restored cylinder, establish as well new spare parts which will be applied to it, and follow those instructions which can be enclosed. Before installation wash out all details in clearing liquid of brake system, alcohol or pure brake liquid. Do not use solvents on the basis of gasoline.
9. Establish consolidation on the piston. Edges of consolidation should be turned into the return party from a pusher.
10. Establish a spring for other end of the piston.
11. Plentifully grease an internal surface of the cylinder and consolidation by brake liquid.
12. Accurately insert the piston into the cylinder, trying not to damage consolidation. At installation, that end of the piston on which the spring is established in the beginning is inserted so that the piston end to which the pusher fastens, was closer to open edge of the cylinder.
13. On the release Corolla models till 1995 establish a pusher and new laying in the cylinder, compress a spring and establish a new restrictive ring. On the release Corolla models since 1996 establish a pusher and a washer, press on a pusher and establish a new cutting lock ring, having checked, that it became exact in the flute. Establish a new dustproof cover.
14. Establish a tank, having replaced the plug. Insert a spring pin by means of a hammer and a punch. Check, that he acted no more than on 3,175 mm on both parties of a tank.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the main cylinder on a body partition, having twirled fixing nuts fingers.
2. Connect a hydraulic tube to the main cylinder, having a little moved the cylinder if it is necessary. Do not twist connection crookedly.
3. Tighten fixing nuts and connection of a hydraulic tube.
4. Establish a pusher on a coupling pedal.
5. Fill in fresh hydraulic liquid in a tank of the main cylinder of a drive of switching off of coupling (see subsection 2.1), and then pump over hydraulic system of a drive of switching off of coupling (see subsection 8.2.5).
6. Check installation of a pedal of coupling and a free wheeling (see subsection 8.2).
