Prevention

Periodically it is necessary to wash out system of cooling and to replace cooling liquid. At service of system of cooling it is necessary to check and if necessary to replace all hoses and a stopper of a jellied mouth of a radiator.
Liquid draining

| 1. Put the car on the hand brake and block wheels. If the engine hot, wait some hours that the engine completely cooled down. |
| 2. On the cold engine unscrew a stopper of a jellied mouth of a radiator. |

3. Almost on all cars for access to the drain crane of a radiator located in the lower part of a radiator, it is required to uncover. Substitute under a drain opening of a radiator a vessel of suitable capacity for reception of merged liquid. |
4. Dress on the drain union a hose with internal diameter of 9,5 mm for the direction of a stream of liquid in a vessel (on some cars such hose is provided by a design) then open the drain crane (for what it is possible to use flat-nose pliers). |

5. After a drain of all liquid from a radiator rearrange vessels under a drain stopper of the block of cylinders. Unscrew a stopper (it is specified by an arrow) and merge liquid from the block of cylinders. |
| 6. While liquid flows down check a condition of hoses of a radiator, a heater and collars (if necessary see subsection 2.6.5). |
| 7. Replace all damaged hoses and collars. |

Washing of system of cooling

| 1. After draining of cooling liquid wash out a radiator flowing water, having inserted a garden hose, until then while from the bottom branch pipe pure water will not begin to flow. Washing by water will remove all deposits from a radiator, but will not clear the engine and pipelines of system of cooling of rust and scum deposits. |
| 2. It is possible to remove these deposits with chemical influence of a cleaner. Use a cleaner according to the instruction of the manufacturer. At strong pollution of a radiator, existence of mechanical damages and a leak, the radiator should be removed (see subsection 4.9) and to hand over in repair. |
| 3. Disconnect a hose from a broad tank. Merge liquid from a tank and wash out it pure water then attach a hose. |

Filling of system of cooling

| 1. Turn and tighten a stopper on the block of cylinders, densely close the crane on a radiator. |
| 2. Transfer a rychazhok of management of a heater to the extreme situation corresponding to completely open crane of a heater. |
| 3. Slowly fill in the fresh cooling liquid consisting of water and antifreeze (in the ratio 50/50), before radiator filling. Add liquid in a tank so that level was above the bottom label. |
| 4. Remove a stopper of a radiator and start the engine (in well ventilated room), warm up the engine until the thermostat (liquid will start to circulate through a radiator and the top hose becomes hot) will open. |
| 5. Stop the engine and let's cool down. Add liquid to bottom edge of a mouth of a radiator. |
| 6. Compress the top hose to force out air, and if necessary add liquid. Put into place a radiator stopper. |
| 7. Start the engine, warm up and check existence of podtekaniye. |
