12.23. Rear-view mirrors with the electric drive

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of elements of the electric drive of glasses of a rear view

1. Block of safety locks of N2 (ALT safety lock, AM1 safety lock)
2. External rear-view mirror
3. Ignition lock
4. Block of safety locks of N1 (Lighter and radio receiver safety lock)
5. Regulator of provision of a mirror

Rear-view mirrors with the electric drive use two engines for change of provision of a mirror; one for adjustment in the vertical plane and one for adjustment in the horizontal.

The regulator of provision of mirrors has the switch which allows to switch management of the left and right mirrors. When a key in the lock of ignition will turn in situation ASS, lower glasses and check regulator work in all provisions (adjustment of mirrors up – down and to the right – to the left) for the left and right rear-view mirrors.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Listen to a sound of the electric motors changing the provision of mirrors.
2. If you hear engines, but mirrors do not move, probably, the drive in a mirror is faulty. Remove and disassemble a mirror for detection and elimination of a source of malfunction.
3. If a safety lock as it should be, remove the ventilating lattice / panel of a regulator from the dashboard for receiving access to the back party of a regulator of provision of mirrors, without disconnecting a wire. Include ignition and check tension existence on a regulator. Tension should be present only on one plug.
4. If on a regulator there is no tension, check wires between the block of safety locks and a regulator on existence of a gap or short circuit (see tab. Table of connection of a tester and conductivity of a regulator of provision of a rear-view mirror).
5. If on a regulator there is a tension, disconnect it. Check it on conductivity of a current at all provisions of a regulator. If the regulator does not carry out a current, replace it.
6. Connect a regulator. Find a wire going from a regulator to mass of the car. Without disconnecting a regulator, connect a cap wire between this wire and mass of the car. If after that mirrors work, restore switch grounding.
7. If the mirror still does not work, remove it and check mirror wires on tension existence. Check tension at the included ignition, and the regulator should be switched for adjustment of this mirror. Switch a regulator through all provisions. On one of the wires connecting the switch and a mirror, there should be a tension when the regulator is in any of provisions (except the neutral situation off).
8. If at any of regulator provisions, tension on wires of a mirror is absent, check wires between a mirror and a regulator on existence of gaps or short circuit.
9. If tension is present, remove a mirror and check its work, having connected cap wires. Replace a mirror if it is faulty.
