Elements of a rack of a suspension bracket
1. The shock-absorber with a spring 2. Cap 3. Rack support 4. Dustproof ring 5. Spring nest
|
6. Top insulator 7. Suspension bracket spring 8. Rubber damper 9. Bottom insulator 10. Shock-absorber |
If the rack of a suspension bracket or a spring have obvious signs of wear or damages (there is a leakage of liquid from the shock-absorber, amortization deterioration, emergence of cracks or spring deformation), is necessary to replace the shock-absorber of a rack of a suspension bracket or a spring. The shock-absorber and a spring are not subject to repair.
It is possible to replace a suspension bracket rack together with a spring, and it is possible to disassemble a rack and to replace only the shock-absorber of a rack or a spring. Before decision-making, learn about the prices and existence of spare parts.
Prevention
Dismantling of a rack of a suspension bracket is rather dangerous operation and this work is necessary for carrying out with big accuracy as it is possible to get a serious trauma. Use adaptations for compression of springs only quality and reliability and precisely follow instructions of the producer on installation of compressors on a spring. After removal of a spring from a rack put it in a safe place that it did not disturb you at work.
Dismantling
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Remove a suspension bracket rack, being guided by the instructions provided in the previous section. Establish a rack in a vice, having put wooden laying or rags between sponges of a vice not to damage a rack. Do not clamp a vice too strongly. |
|
2. Following instructions of the producer, establish compressors (which can be got or hired) on a spring and compress it so that it any more did not press on the top nest. It can be checked, having shaken a spring here and there. |
|
3. Turn off a nut on the end of a rod of the shock-absorber by means of a natural a cap head and remove. |
|
4. Remove a nut and a rack support. Check operation of the bearing in a rack support. If it does not rotate freely, replace a rack support. Check a rubber part of a support on existence of cracks or other wear tracks. If rubber burst or tore, replace a support. |
|
5. Remove a nest of a spring and the top insulator from a shock-absorber rod. Check a rubber nest of a spring on existence of cracks or consolidations and replace it if it is necessary. |
|
6. Accurately remove the compressed spring from a rack and place it in a safe place. Watch that spring any of the ends it was not turned to a body. |
Prevention
Watch that the ends of a spring were not near the head.
|
7. Remove a rubber damper from a shock-absorber rod. |
8. Check the bottom insulator (if is available) on existence of wear tracks, cracks or consolidations also replace it if it is necessary. |
|
Assembly
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. If you replace the bottom insulator, establish it into place so that the acting part got to deepening of a nest of a spring. Get a shock-absorber rod for all length and establish a rubber damper (see fig. Elements of a rack of a suspension bracket). |
|
2. Accurately establish a spring on the bottom insulator so that the end of a spring got to the deepest part of an insulator – in deepening of the bottom nest (it is specified by an arrow). |
|
3. Establish the top insulator and a spring nest, having checked, that the flat parties of an opening in a nest coincided with sides on a shock-absorber rod (are specified by an arrow). |
4. Establish a dustproof ring and a rack support on a shock-absorber rod. |
5. Establish a fixing nut and tighten it till the demanded moment of an inhaling (see subsection 10.1). |
6. Establish a suspension bracket rack on the car, being guided by the instructions provided in the previous section (see subsection 10.2). |
