Prevention
Before complete cooling of the engine it is forbidden to turn on a radiator stopper, to remove the thermostat and to merge liquid from cooling system.

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Before drawing a conclusion that the main reason for abnormal work of system of cooling is malfunction of the thermostat, check liquid level (see subsection 2.3) and the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid (or the light indicator). |
| 2. If the engine is long warmed up (it it is possible to determine by slow increase of temperature according to the index, or on slow heating of air by a heater), a probable cause is the zalipaniye of the valve of the thermostat. In this case the thermostat replace. |
| 3. At an overheat of the engine check heating of the top hose of a radiator. If the hose warm, and the engine hot, the thermostat is closed, blocking liquid access from the engine to a radiator. Replace the thermostat. |
Prevention
Driving without the thermostat is forbidden. In the absence of the thermostat the chain of feedback of automatic control is disconnected by systems of decrease in toxicity of otrabrotanny gases and fuel system, their refusal is as a result possible.

| 4. If the radiator hose hot, the thermostat is open and liquid circulates through a radiator. Further check carry out being guided by the section "Search of malfunctions" at the end of the management. |

Replacement
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Disconnect the battery from weight. |
| 2. Merge liquid from a radiator. |
|
3. Disconnect the socket of the thermoswitch of the fan (it is specified by an arrow) on a cover of the thermostat which is directly under the distributor, on the left side on a head of cylinders, and unscrew two nuts of fastening of a cover of the thermostat to the case. |
| 4. Uncover the thermostat the case. Keep in mind that at removal of a cover cooling liquid will spill. If the cover of the thermostat does not change, a radiator hose from a cover do not remove. |

5. Remove the thermostat, having paid attention to its situation in a cover or in the case, carefully clear condensed surfaces. The spring of the thermostat should be turned towards a head of cylinders. |

6. The thermostat is condensed on the periphery with profilirovanny laying. Establish on the thermostat new laying. Be convinced of a uniform prileganiye of laying on all contour. |
| 7. On engines 4A-FE and 7A-FE establish the thermostat and a cover so that the pin was turned up. On engines 4E-FE сориентируйте the thermostat so that the pin was combined with a ledge on a cover then establish a cover and the thermostat. |
| 8. Tighten fastening nuts with the moment specified in subsection 4.1. Establish other details upside-down. |
| 9. Fill system of cooling with liquid (see subsection 2.8.4), start the engine and check existence of leaks and operation of the engine. |
