4.7. The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid



Start works only after complete cooling of the engine.


1. In default the sensor at first check safety locks (see subsection 12.1).
2. If later small time after engine start the sensor shows the overestimated temperature, be guided by subsection 1.9.
3. If the sensor shows "Hot" condition ("hot") right after start-up of the cold engine, disconnect a wire from the sensor. On engines 4E-FE the sensor will screw sideways in a thermostat cover, and on engines 4A-FE and 7A-FE – in a branch pipe of the pump of cooling liquid. If the indication falls, the sensor replace. If the indication remains overestimated, the reasons can be short circuit on mass of a wire of the sensor, or malfunction of the sensor.
4. If the sensor ceases to show temperature after complete warming up of the engine (about 10 minutes later after start-up), and safety locks are serviceable, arrive as follows. Stop the engine, disconnect a wire from the sensor and by means of an additional piece of a wire close a sensor wire on well cleared site of the engine. Include for short time ignition, but the engine do not start. If the sensor shows now "Hot", the sensor replace.
5. If indications of the sensor are absent, break in chains, or malfunction of the sensor can be the reason.


1. Merge cooling liquid (see subsection 2.8.4).
2. Disconnect the conducting socket from the sensor.
3. A deep face head, or a rozhkovy key turn out the sensor.
4. Wrap the new sensor and reliably tighten. To condense a sensor carving with hermetic it is not allowed, as violation of contact of the case of the sensor with weight is possible.
5. Attach the conducting socket, fill in liquid, start the engine, check existence of leaks and operation of the engine.
