1.6.18. Installation of winter tires and chains

GENERAL INFORMATION

At movement on snow and ice it is recommended to establish winter tires and chains. At movement on the wet or dry road coupling of winter tires is worse, than at the usual.

Type and design of established winter tires should correspond to type and a design of the tires established on the car. At installation of shipovanny rubber be guided by the standards accepted in this region.

Installation of winter tires

In order to avoid unevenness of coupling of wheels with the road and losses of controllability of the car winter tires should be established on all wheels. The removed tires store in a cool dry place. At installation of tires keep the order of their shift accepted earlier.

Prevention

Pressure in tires should correspond to norm.

Do not exceed the speed limit of movement established for winter tires.

Instructions for use chains

Establish chains of the suitable size, being guided by local standards.

Chains on forward wheels should as it is possible to adjoin to the tire more densely.

It is forbidden to dress chains on back wheels. After advance on 0,5–1 km tighten chains.

When clothing chains be guided by the instruction of their manufacturer. If on wheels there are decorative slips, remove them in order to avoid damages by chains.

Security measures

The maximum speed of movement with chains of 50 km/h (or should correspond established by the manufacturer of chains, depending on what speed is lower).

At movement avoid sharp turns and arrivals on potholes, car emission from a track otherwise is possible.
